How to take your Make-up OFF

Some bed time thoughts...

I've learned that its extremely important to wash your face before you sleep. The best make-up remover I think is equate facial cleaning towelettes. You can buy it from any Walmart. They are cheap and they work very well. It doesn't burn your eyes and it gets all the eyeliner out!
Follow that with some St. Ives lotion and your skin is nice and clean to sleep the night away.

How to Keep Your Make-up on

I have been through my share of going out at night and looking at myself at the end of the night to find all my make-up off. I have now discovered a few good tips to keep your make up on.

Foundation,Powder: Try using Caudalie:Grape Water before you put your foudation on. This really helps to have it stick. You can also put it on after you are done. This is usually the case when you use a product like bare escentuals. You'll need something after rather then before. Another thought is to keep your face a lil wet/damp when applying foundation/powder. This makes the liquid stick as well. I would also try to use a foundation-powder based foundation. I feel that the foundation-powder combo works better to stick on. I have tried the Elizabeth Arden - FLAWLESS FINISH
Flawless Finish Dual Perfection Makeup. This works really well.

EyeShadow: The key to eyeshadow is fairly simple. Before applying, use a foundation or under eye coverup on the top of your lid. Same way as the foundation, you need to use something that the eyeshadow will stick to. You can try to use a makeup paint or something similar from mac..that works well. Also, I would suggest sticking with more brand name eyeshadows like mac. A lil more pricey then the drugstore kind but works better.

Lipstick: A few thoughts on lipstick. I have discovered that the mac -pro long wear is the best to stay on> You actually cannot take it off...you can try to use baby oil to wipe it off. Also, another tip is to dab some press powder on your lips after you apply.

Best Mascara - Loreal Volume Shocking

I have gone through my share of mascaras and the best one happens to be the Loreal Volume Shocking. It is full of volume and also lengthens very well. You start off by applying the volume primer end until you get your desired thickness. Follow that by the comb/black end which lengthens your eyelashes out. Wait for that to dry for a few seconds and then take your eyelash curler and stick it under the dryer for a second. Curl the lashes and see amazing results. This mascara may take time to get used to but at the end its totally worth it. Its is also reasonably priced - about $10-14 at any drugstore.

Who Am I?

Hello Fusion Fashion Friends,

My name is Ekta. I am new to the blogging industry. I thought I’d introduce myself so you can seewhere my thoughts and insights are coming from. I am not only new to blogging but I am fairly new to San Francisco. I grew up in NY and recently moved to San Francisco. Almost 2 years ago on 7/4/06 I tied the knotto this amazing man and moved out to the Bay Area. Our wedding was full of your traditional Indian customs with an American twist. The lil fame of our wedding – the Wall Street Journal wrote an article about our first dance that was hosted on youtube..you can check it out here.
Fashion and Make-up is my life. Ever since I was little I
always wanted to be up to date with the newest trends and would explore all the different make-up brands.

I came across a few favorites – like Mac, BareEscentuals, Loreal. I am the girl who throws all the ladies nights and who my friends come to for tips and tricks. My obsessions include shoes, bags, and eyeshadow! Not only does fashion and beauty exist in America but the Indian community also has its share. Whether it be a pretty new shawl, a really fancy sari or a great henna product to make your hair that silky brown – we ladies discuss it all. Being Indian has allowed me to make my styles and thoughts fusion. I love mixing the two and the result is always a plus. So there you have it, a lil blurb about who I am. I am really excited to be part of the Community and enthusiastic to share my thoughts with everyone.
